In this week, I'm gonna show you how to create a shinny text effect in Adobe Photoshop for your works. As we all know, having the knowledge to know how to create a shiny effect for our text is always essential. Every designer knows that there are many times when we need a quick tip to have shinny, bright and nice effect. So, here is a very quick tutorial for those who seek it.
Step 1.
Open a new document on Adobe Photoshop 1000x459 px. Like always make a new layer on the top of your background layer and name it background 1. Now, paint it black by Ctrl+backspace.
In this step you have to decide what you want to write, in my case I wrote the word "shine". My font is Copper Std, with 250 size, and i used 4498e2 for my color. After that, go to filter/ water paper and follow this setting.
Here is the first step for adding the main lights to your text. Right click on your type layer and go to Layer properties. Then, follow these settings.

After you choose your settings like mine, your result will be like the picture below.
After that duplicate your text layer, this action will make every effect brighter. Because we dont want all of the effects to get stronger, we double click on our duplicate layer and simply follow the setting.
As you can see I turned off the outer glow and changed the color of the Inner glow. So, here is how it looks like.
Here is the picture of my own layer style, so that it can help you to understand the concept better. I put my text layers in a group and named it " text", so that I can organize it easily.
Step 4.
In this step we will create a shinning reflects on our text. Make a new group and name it light or anything you want, then make a new layer on it. Now click on your brushes (B) and pick up your soft round brush. Come back to your work and put some circle spots on your work, be creative with it and have some fun.
After that use Smudge tool to shape your lights. Smudge tool can be a little tricky so make sure to practice enough with it. Feel free to use eraser tool for getting a neater result.
Make a new layer and use the same technique but this time pick a hard brush. Add more lights to your work and try to enjoy it.
go to your layer properties for your new layer and follow these settings
Now that you are done, I just show you a quick view of my Layers so that you have some ideas about how to organize your layers. Because this tutorial is so quick and it doesn't have many layers, its best time to see this.
There we go, here is your final result. I hope you liked this quick tutorial.
